About this guide
Which Park Pass is an independent guide run by Jerry Chen. It is not affiliated with the National Park Service. We don't sell passes or reservations, and we don't take commissions on them.
Where the numbers come from
Entrance fees, passes, reservation notices and alerts come from the official NPS Data API, which we check every day. The 16 parks where the calculator matters most, including all 11 with the nonresident fee, have also been checked by hand against each park's fees page; those pages say so and give the date. When the daily check finds a change to fees or passes, we confirm it on nps.gov before updating the site. Rules about the nonresident fee and passes are quoted from NPS pages, each with a link and the date we checked it.
What "Not confirmed by NPS" means
Some questions aren't answered on any official page, or sources disagree. We say so, explain what our calculator assumes, and ask NPS directly. We currently have 2 open questions with NPS.
What we don't cover
We haven't visited every park, so we don't give advice on trails, lodging or what's worth seeing. We stick to fees, passes and entry rules.
